I'm Scott — a Southern California guy who drove to Arizona on a whim one weekend and never stopped going back. The Grand Canyon changed something in me. Then Sedona did it again. Then Monument Valley. Then a random dirt road outside Bisbee at sunset. What started as weekend road trips turned into an obsession with this state's landscapes, history, and small towns. This site is everything I've learned — the real version, not the brochure version.
I work in healthcare IT. I'm not a travel blogger or influencer — I'm a guy who plans trips obsessively and finally decided to put it all somewhere useful. Arizona grabbed me the way some places just do. The first time I stood at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, I understood why people get emotional about rocks. The first time I drove through Monument Valley at dawn, I pulled over and just sat there for twenty minutes.
I've driven thousands of miles across this state — the interstates, the back highways, the forest roads north of Flagstaff, the mining-town switchbacks around Bisbee. I've hiked in summer heat that nearly broke me and watched snow fall on red rocks in Sedona in January. I've eaten at roadside diners, splurged at Scottsdale resorts, and camped under more stars than I knew existed near Page.
Discover Arizona exists because I got tired of generic travel content. The "Top 10 Things to Do" lists that all say the same thing. The sponsored hotel reviews. The articles clearly written by someone who spent one afternoon at each place. I wanted to build the resource I wished I had when I first started exploring — real prices, real logistics, honest opinions, and an AI trip planner that actually knows the difference between Tucson in March and Tucson in August.
