About Jenice

The Personal Perspective Behind Every Story

I didn't think the desert would move me. Scott had been talking about the Grand Canyon for years, and I figured it was one of those things that's impressive in photos but just... a big hole when you get there. Then I stood on the South Rim at sunrise and couldn't speak for ten minutes. The scale of it rewires something in your brain.

Sedona got me next. There's an energy in those red rocks that you feel whether you believe in vortexes or not. The way the light changes the color of the landscape every hour, the quiet of a desert trail at dawn, the surprise of finding world-class art galleries in a town surrounded by wilderness. Arizona is a place that looks stark in photos but feels impossibly alive when you're there.

And the food — nobody told me about the food. Tucson is a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, and Sonoran hot dogs from a street cart in Phoenix might be the most underrated thing in American food. I'm the one who researches where to eat while Scott maps the hiking routes.

Scott plans the logistics. I find the magic. Scott knows the best trailhead parking at 5 AM. I know the restaurant where we'll toast to the sunset afterward. Together, we give you Arizona from both sides — the practical and the unforgettable.
